Hello.....my mare is due next week. And she has JUST started to show a tad bit of a bag..more in her milk veins than anything. But I did notice a bit of residue on the ends of her teats so I pulled some fluid out. It was thick...yellow....with a tinge of pinkish orange. Should I be worried about this pinkish-orange color. I have never seen this in any of my other mares. Could it be blood in her milk? Thanks so much~ Dani

While it could be a little blood the chances are that it isn't and that it is simply a different mixture of milk. Honey coloured exudate is common for example prior to the white milk coming in, so it may well be a remnant of that.
If you have any concerns though, give your vet a call.
Good luck.
