Has anyone done this before???
I am getting a LOT of enquiries on both options right now and I need to speak to someone who has been involved with this in the past as to what is realistic for selling both the eggs and the embryo's. Do you sell them per egg or embryo or per cycle? What guarantees do you give / not give with them?
What is standard protocol?
What contracts do I need in place to be fair to clients and fair to me and protect both of our interests?
In the case of the eggs - I know the technology is not there for freezing them, so we would need to have semen shipped in, inseminate her, flush at the 6 or the 6.5 days (depending on whether or not they were freezing or implanting into a recipient mare) and they would have to pay for all vet costs, recipient mare costs (if they go that route), shipping costs, board costs while she is there at the repro centre, trailering costs, etc, etc
Also - if she is superovulated, what are the long term ramifications and repercussions of doing so for her future fertility when *I* want to breed her down the road? What do I need to be aware of and careful of? Is there a limit to how often she COULD be safely superovulated and is that per season or per lifetime???
If you would like to discuss prices but not on the board, I can be contacted at: email@example.com prior to August 7th and firstname.lastname@example.org after August 7th
Thanks so much for any/all feedback on this one!
