On my mare's second flush, she produced two embryos. One graded at 2 and one at 2+. They were non surgically implanted at day 8. Today is day 16 and the reciepant mares have checked safe in foal. The vets say they will check the mares again at day 21.

My question is at what point should I feel safe that I have viable, healthy pregancies? I have to have the mares hauled home and would like to wait until there is the least chance of them slipping.

You should feel safe when you're looking at two live, healthy foals...

Actually, that's a lie...

You should feel safe when you have the cash from the sale in your hand and the trailer is out of your yard...

Actually, that's a lie...

You're never safe...

In reference to when to haul... if she's not stressed by being transported, then it's not really a problem at any time. If there is likely to be stress, then before 5 days after ovulation or after about 55 days will probably be the best times.
