Darla is a sweet, loving Jennet. That is one of the reasons I chose her. Ever since I gave her the second Botulism vaccination a week or so ago, she avoids me like the plague. The only time she will let me touch her is when I am bringing her feed. She didn't react this way when I gave her the first Botulism vaccination or when she got her most recent Pneumabort vaccination. Is she just being hormonal or is it something else? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i haven't had anything like this happen before, and I certainly want her to be comfortable with me when she foals because I WILL be there.
I was standing at the fence watching Darla the other evening. When my husband came up, Darla took off to the other side of the paddock, so it's not just me, it's her pregnancy. She is irritable with the other Jennets in the paddock also.
I guess I am back in her good graces now (thank goodness). She lets me come to her and rub on her. She even came to the fence this evening looking for attention. I feel much better now!
