My mare will be 320 days tomorrow, she is a maiden.

This past Saturday night she started sweating in her chest/neck/front leg area. She was definitely elongated and darker pink. My sweet girl (the last few weeks she had been completely affectionate, couldn't get enough attention and love) was extremely agitated and tried to bite when her bag was touched (up to that point she had lifted her leg to give you easier access) and even tried to bite when her side was touched. Her behind went from jello to being rock hard in what seemed a matter of minutes. Groaning, obvious discomfort. Then... she was done. Cooled down, rear went back to being jello. One more time that night she began to get sweaty and nasty, then nothing. Her bag isn't completely full but it's not 'empty' either. Full enough now where the nipples are pointed down.

Since Saturday she has been eating everything in front of her, going through LOTS of hay. She poops so much I can't keep up with it... the amount I'm cleaning out of her stall is ridiculous!!

I hadn't been able to express anything from her nipples the last few days until today and I only took one drop. It had gone from a very sticky amber colored substance to lighter to what looks like clear on my finger and less sticky.

I also noticed today that she had a little of what looked like blood on the inside of her vulva. Not clots, pouring out or anything close to that. It looked like streaks, one on each 'lip' edge, right on the inside.

I'm so confused!!

I tried posting a few pictures (via PhotoBucket)but ended up being banned because of it... not sure what I'm doing wrong. :-(

No, the way I posted pics here (from PhotoBucket) messed up something with my account, had to reset my router/IP address or something...

Anyway, mare is more loose in the tail tonight, bags are a little more full. I'm confused and completely and utterly exhausted!

ahh, try posting them this way. When you're in your photobucket acct, hover over the thumbnail of the pic you want, and the 2nd option down should say 'direct link"....click it, then come right click here, and click on paste. :-) That's how i do it, never had any problems

'direct link', thank you- I'll be sure to do that. :-)

It is 4:30am and I checking on my mare, luckily only ten minutes from home. The exhaustion continues! When I entered the barn I heard her grunt a couple of times and I got excited. I then heard her get up and all was quiet so I went in to see her. Doesn't seem in distress necessarily... Lots of yawning, that's about it. Also... On each teat there appears to be a drop of what looks like blood. Normal?

I'm going to wait here for a little while and then check on her one more time before I go home.

Thanks Debra. I tried it again, the way you instructed, and my IP was booted again (third time). I would love to share photos but it just isn't working for me.

Today is day 322 for my Stella. This morning she was VERY cranky.. she tried to bite when I touched her neck- forget checking her udder! Kicked at her stomach, ears pinned, lots of flared nostril breathing and quivering lips. Fingers crossed...
