Hi I am new at this breeding stuff but I do have one question for now can someone help me?

My question is what method is better?
Is hand breeding better, the AI way better or is putting him in with a mare in heat in a small round pen better(with suppervision of course)?
Can someone help with my question I really could use a answer!

Dee, this is our perspective on things.
We do hand breeding. You can control both the mare and stallion this way and try to avoid any potential problems. If you pasture bred, you risk the chance of potenial problems. Also you must have some way to keep track of breeding so you are properly prepared for foaling. Still if you put the mare and stallion together under supervised conitions for a hour or two a day for breeding you do not have control over what happens to either of the horses, and trying to intervein would then put someone at risk with other problems that your trying to gain control of.

Ai is good to do if you plan on doing alot of mares or shipped semen. Yet it is more costly to you and the mare owner. Many more expenses to consider.

Hope this gives you some ideas to think about.
