Okay, I breed my 3 yr old arab stallion for the first time this year yesterday, he started out just so excited and was rearing and wanting to get to the mare really bad.... he usually behaves really well, last year he was a perfect gentleman... he is socialized, can see them and talk to them all day long, is let out to run everyother day, I have not worked him much this winter as we had so much rain... and we had toomuch mud to exercise him... any advice to how to get him to settle back down and be a good boy again... without the rearing and craziness....?
Even my good 'ol boys can act up the first time each year!
The rain and mud are not helping. Exercise is a key element as you know. You may need to put a lip chain on him and let him know that you are not up to his foolishness. It doesn't take much, and they certainly respect it.
