Training is not that difficult - put him in a stall with fresh bedding in, and he will probably spontaneously urinate. Shaking bedding under his belly and whistling may also assist. The other alternative is to catheterize the stallion's bladder and drain it each time prior to collection/breeding, but that will require veterinary intervention and is therefore not preferable.
