Hi, I have a Paint colt that I've intended on using for some show and breeding. He just turned 15 months, and is well behaved so far. What I was wondering about is that only one of his testicles are noticable. I can see a small lump that looks like it may be one that hasn't come down yet, but I'm not sure. I've read that colts don't usually drop before 15 months, but my last stallion was a POA stallion who started dropping at a younger age (he is now gelded). Is this normal? For his age it seems like he'd be showing a bit of interest in mares, but he seems just fine about it. Thanks!

Elizabeth: I have a 16 mo. appaloosa colt that only has only one teste, and I am not too worried about it. His sire didn't drop his second until he was 3 y/o: A little late, but better than never. I plan to keep my colt as a stallion too. He is not interested in mares yet, which is ok by me. Good luck with your colt.
