I know that this doesn't really fit, but I needed to know something. Our neighbors are selling a nice filly, and I'm interested in buying her. They say that her sire is a registered QH, but her dam isn't registered. They said that her (filly's dam) sire, though, was registered as a Paint. I was wondering if I could register this filly as maybe an appendix QH since only her sire is registered. I don't know as much about the AQHA registration than I do about APHA. Any QH breeders out there that can help? I'd appreciate it!!

No. The dam would have to be a registerd TB to be eligable for the appendix. Both parents must be registerd. Sorry

P.S.> you could find this out at the aqha web site if you want to check it out for yourself. aqha.com

You cant register the foal in either APHA or AQHA, however the filly might be able to he hardshipped into Pinto.

Thanks. Now we've decided to not buy the filly. They had another person interested, so I figure she was sold to him. I was wondering that anyway, though. I wondered if AQHA or APHA had a hardship clause like the ApHA (Appaloosa Horse Assoc.) does. Thanks, though for your help!

APHA doesn't have a hardship clause that I know of.
