I have bred my 2 1/2 yr old miniature stallion to my mare successfully (she is in foal). Although I did hand breed them, I have let them live together for 3 months and he certainly was breeding on his own.
He is very calm and has been a pleasure as a new stallion.
Now that she is in foal - I plan on leaving them together to avoid separating him for equine companionship. She is the only one I can put him with (only other mini is another mare I don't want bred).
Now that he has bred - will be become frustrated not having a mare come in season and possibly begin bothering her?

Destiny many stalliions will not breed a donkey on their own. You should tease him up with a mare in heat and then try to get him to mount the donkey right away. As you can see the problem is you need a mare and the donkey in heat at the same time.
