By the way... DO you agree that she is definately a Bay?? Only my friends keep insisting it will turn chestnut but I dont agree..?? |

YES ! it is definitely a bay ! the light colored legs are normal, they will turn black later. There is really only one way to see she hasn't got enough milk, if the foal is trying to nurse very frequently and looks frustrated, and is getting weak. the empty udder is normal, a newborn foal nurses every 15 minutes and empties it all the time. everything seems just fine to me, nice little filly ! |

Thankyou Rousseau!!! That is really nice to hear, really really good. The foal does nurse very frequently and was looking quite frustrated yesterday but I did not notice that so much today. She is still nursing frequently but if there is not a lot of milk being produced perhaps she is getting enough to satisfy her temporarily until the next lot is ready..?? She certainly doesnt seem weak or subdued so I am hopeful that the situation will rectify itself without the need for the supplement. Thankyou Rousseau, really appreciate the feedback  |
