Is it possible the cataracts were caused by trauma (mare was kicked severely multiple times by another mare 4 weeks before her due date?) Or would the trauma had to occur when the eye began its formation. Or is this more a hereditary thing? Any links or knowledge about this subject would be appreciated!!! The breeder is considering putting the foal down if the cataracts don't improve/heal.
