HI Everyone - Thank you for letting post to your varoius threads - Sugar 21 etc. All of your comments, advice and pictures have been wonderful to read. Briefly - Star is a 21 yr old 1/2 TB, this was her second foal after 15 yrs. She was field bred so I had no idea when she was due. After about 365+/- days - we now have a bouncing baby boy. I had consulted all of the color charts because she was bred to a tobiano black/grullo stud. She is dark chestnut - I had a 16 -37% chance of color...I will try to post his newborn pics - see for yourself. Thank you all again for letting me join your group.

How cute! I especially love the third photo!

Congrats on a healthy baby and mama. I know you were concerned, given her history of no foal for 15 years and her age. Horses continue to amaze me.

Anyway, have fun with your cute colt.

Hurray Cheryl, I've been wondering and waiting to hear about your mare. What a beautiful colt. I am so happy for you and your mare on a safe delivery. Can't wait to see more pictures

Hi all - I will try to get some more pics up soon. I hope this is nothing but Rascal is now 9 days old and he seems to be having touble peeing. He does let down, then he will bring it up and then let down again. His urine stream is not super strong and sometimes he sprays. Skin looks clean, no urine leaking from umbilical stump... may call the vet tomorrow. any ideas? Otherwise he is already starting to eat hay and seems to be putting on weight. thanks for your input.

Poor little fella.

I would like to suggest that you start this subject as a new heading, either under this topic, or Miscellaneous. I think you'll get more responses that way.

I'd probably call the vet, but at least he is peeing. Otherwise, he could get sick very quickly.

I'll be following this to see where it goes. Good luck!

Hi Thanks for the advice - I just started a new thread under foal issues. I called my friends vet yesterday - he thinks Rascal needs to be seen - I will keep you posted.
