mare was bred at end of april 08 she is at about 375 days, just yesterday she started showing signs of heat, very interested but wont let stallion mount(i did this as a test). mare is 20y/o has been open a few years. had her palpated in Jan, vet said probably preggers due to her not finding the cerivex, said it must be pulled down cause she couldnt find it, couldnt feel bby either. but was positive of prego. mare has large belly, low and back has dropped some. no milk bag but i can get clear fluid out of her. i had this mare on regumate and was weaned off in feb. does any body think she is pregnant? mabye i just fed her to good and shes just fat?
Have her checked again, but by a different vet. The cervix should be easily palpable in both pregnant and non-pregnant mares, so if the vet you used before couldn't find the cervix, they're not competent at palpating.
