Where is Everyone? I have a question and please someone help me.
I'm trying to figure out what it is in front of my mares udder. seems pretty mushy.
Here is a photo. Can someone please explain.
Bryon is 318 days today. How much longer just by looking at the photos due you think she has. She started growing an udder that I noticed on the 5th of March. I cant express any milk out of them either.. She has daily all the time turnout to, so she gets plenty of exercise.

Hi Susan,

Looks like edema to me...really common in the last days of pregnancy. Edema is fluid build up from the weight, pressure...Excercise will help...hand walking, ponying off another horse..cold hosing...I know that in the last weeks of pregnancy my mare would be turned out daily but pretty much moved as little as possible :-) So she had to be "encouraged" to move :-) I think you have a couple more weeks. Her udder will continue to fill and her teats will point down..she looks like she is shaping up nicely. Can you post a full side shot of her?

Jan, She gets to constantly run. she has a lean to she will foal in. She is by no means lazy. She is roudy all the time and whats wierd is her udder is bigger in the evening not in the morning. Shes still eating good and everything. I've got two going to foal and I'm going crazy!!!! If everything goes on schedual. I'm thinking Bryon will foal around April 8th, but with her being a maiden, I dont Know. She could have it tomorrow... lol
here is a body shot of her taken the other day.
