as of 11:59 5/5 Freckles the Eternally Pregnant Spotted Wonder Horse is no longer pregnant! Thank God I was watching her...baby was sideways with one front leg comin out first, head and one front leg deflected. Thank god I also finally got electric in my barn and all was working so I could see to work. Had to go in and readjust everything, then help the mare finish, but all in all, we've got a live foal....his first few hours have been hard ones. He is very small (about 15 pounds, Maybe 16 inches at the withers)didn't nurse on his own, and neither he nor the mare approved of my help. He finally nursed a tiny bit on his own, and i milked the mare to give him an ample amount so I can get some sleep. I have been thru days of exhaustion up with this mare, and looks like I'm in for more. That being said, it's my pleasure to introduce you to "Mystic Rock Freckles Voodoo Moonshine" !!!

Diana!!!!! I'm so happy for you! That is the most adorable little one! And good job at that repositioning...you're right, it WAS a good thing you were watching! I sympathize with you on the no sleeping.....hope you get several days to catch up! Great job, Freckles the No-Longer Pregnant Spotted Wonder Horse! Hopefully he'll take to nursing quickly and won't have to have help much more than you've given him.

Again, congratulations! He's a sweet one!

What a blessing you were there to help out, and a fantastic job you did!! He is the most adorable, cute little guy there is. :-)

Try and get some sleep, you and she deserve it!!!
Congratulations!!!!

Laurie, that stinks your mare is hanging on to that foal, I guess that means it's not quite finished cooking. :-) So I guess if that's the case, it's a good thing. Good luck with the foaling when the time does come for you.

Diana,

I am so happy for you! I wish you could get sleep now, but at least that beautiful little guy will give you renewed energy. He sounds a lot like the one I had born yesterday. It has been hard, but they are sure worth it!

Great job repositioning!!
