What are some good foal training books? If sandy isn't pregnant (which i will find out in the next two weeks! EEEEEEEEEEEEK!!) THen i would like to get her pregnant. My dad would love to have a foal around. His only concern is that the foal wont be trained. My uncle has an untrained 4 year old that is wild and dangoures. Nearly killed him one day. She was bucking and nicked my dad in the chest with her back hoof just a few feet closer and well it wouldn't have been good lol. BUt i want to read the books so i do know how to train the foal, and if not pregnant get her bred. So any good books? and what are some books you read about prengnant mares. Sandy is a maiden though. lol finally allowed back in the libray at school
Erica, welcome. If you click on the link to the left, on "books" you'll see a good list. I think it includes training foals. You are wise to do that. An untrained horse is often a very dangerous horse.
Also, check out the other threads here. There are some that address training a foal.
What kind of mare do you have and if she is pregnant, when was she bred?
I really recommend the book Imprint Training by Robert M. Miller. Even if you don't believe in imprint training, there are some very good training techniques in it.
