I know I've posted about this before, but I'm so worried. I haven't seen or felt the baby move in a week or so... I really hope he/she is ok!!

Emily

If this is the one you are watching tonight I wouldn't be to concerned. The last week or so they are in a position that makes it more difficult to see or feel any movements. Just think happy healthy foal thoughts!!!!!!!!

Emily: Jonathan is right. Echo had LOTS of movement with her baby and I could get the heartbeat with a stethoscope up to the day she foaled. Blossom, on the other hand, didn't have foal movement during the last month. Combination of position and just a "quieter" foal I think. In fact, my "cheapy" stethoscope that I keep in my first aid kit couldn't even pick up a heartbeat. My good one could, but baby was just in "birthing position" for quite some time before his entrance. If baby is quieting down, this could be a sign that you are getting close.

Emily, I thought I posted a response to this, but must not have hit the final button in my groggy sleepiness. My mare's belly hasn't been active either for more than a few days. Maybe we are getting close! But her vulva is not elongated now, whereas it was geting there before.

Judy: LOl, I'm sure I'll feel this way for a while!
Cjskip: Let's hope we're getting close! My mare's vulva is looking elongated, i think, but today I noticed some yellowish/brownish liquid coming out of it?? Is this normal?? What could it be?

May be the mucus plug. I answered on your post about it. But hopefully, a more experienced person can answer that. Good luck! Hope we all have babies tonight!

I was in the feed store today and heard a guy on the phone with someone bragging about his mare delivering. It happened during the day, shortly after day break I guess, and of course, when he left to do something!! Darn mares!!

Thanks :-). No, it wasn't thick or anything, so I don't know... I don't think there's gonna be a foal tonight for me but good luck to everyone else!

CJ, I keep telling you. Plan a really nice getaway for yourself/family. Make sure your reservations, etc. are non-refundable. I like your idea about calling from the barn so the mare can hear when all this will exactly take place and know precisely when to go into labor then --- and it will be as you are turning from her stall to leave to go get into your car......

Judy: It was just a little drop. I haven't seen anymore of it, so I think we're good! I hope! Lol
