I have a question do you use this as a preventive or just if the foal is having problems nursing? Thanks!! |

Michelle: I give this to EVERY foal as soon after foaling as possible. It is a supplement, certainly not a replacement and I find that it helps increase their appetite. Gives them the "edge." I also give them a dose of it at weaning. When I give this to baby, I also give mom a tube of Super Bx, a great power vitamin/mineral/iron booster! Helps re-coop them as well. Just a suggestion. |

Thanks as usual Bobbi. The Super Bx is it something you can buy or get it from the vet? |

Michelle: You can buy it over the counter or through an on-line veterinary supply. I believe it is actually called "Oral-X B" but any good paste vitamin/mineral/iron supplement would help. |

Another note: I really like the Foal Response for another reason. It's a really, really bright yellow! As it moves through their digestive system, it comes out the same color. It has proven to be extremely helpful for me to ensure their bowels are moving correctly as you can't miss the bright color when it comes out the other end. |
