Hi. I have a mare that is way overdue and today, I went outside as she was in the arena and without looking first, I opened the door, she was laying down, very unusual for her in the heat of the day. When she heard the door open, she jumped up and I figured I'd go check. Her tail was raised and I could see a long, big piece of something like an irredescent white piece of ???? (looked like snot)...lol sorry for lack of a better expression, just hanging there. She eventually knocked it off with the swishing but then, every step she took milk was squirting from her teats....She broke out into a sweat, really bad and then since has just been looking soooo sad and uncomfortable. We let her out of the arena and she walked around to the back yard and started putting her head high like she was smelling something, then we could see her stomach tense up, she spread her legs and a couple minutes later, a gush of clear liquid came out, then looked like yellow at the end....Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks
Nope...I've been checkin her but it's the same every night....Her vulva swells up and elongates, she is obviously irritated, stops eating with food in her mouth, pacing, nervous looking.....I could go on and on. But no baby yet. Suppose it is a waiting game but she seems really late to me. Vet says she is ok and as long as she is showing no distress, let nature take it's course. So that is what I'm doing. Thanks for the inquiry.
