I have an 8 year old Arabian mare that foaled a healthy colt this morning. I found something very strange attached to the afterbirth by a thin thread or vein if you will. It is round and hard like cartalidge or bone. Could this have been meant to be a twin or does anyone know what it is?I have a photo I can send to anyone interested.

It's definitely not the remains of a twin, although many people think it is when they see it. It is in fact the remnant of the yolk sac.
