I have a 10 y/o Q H mare who is about 290 days pregnant,.the concern I have is that she has had 2 previous foals ( 1 at 335 days,2nd at 337 days) both times she had big foals( between 110 and 125 lbs) and always looked huge after 7 months, Im looking at her today and she has a round tummy buy she doesnt look all that pregnant to me. she was ultra sounded in foal at 14 and 90 days, and was on regumate for 150 days.could there be that big of a difference in her size? in all other ways she seems healthy and fine.
That she slipped the foal is a possibility. However every mare and every pregnancy is different, exspecialy if its a different stallion this time around. I wouldn't let her size or lack of it worry you. Having her preg checked isnt a bad idea exspecialy if you just got to know, but just cuz she isnt real big doesn't mean she is going to have a small foal or that she isn't pregnant.
