Hello, tried to breed 16 year old mare last year. Didn't take. She also didn't shed out her coat last year. She is overweight, extremely easy keeper, front hoof arthritis and stocks up behind. I talked to repro vet. He said probably equine metabolic disorder. To put her on thryo L and chromium. She is a 2A biopsy, by the way, and has slow uterine clearance. I pulled some blood and thryoid tests came back negative, as well as insulin, which is normal. Is there any other tests I need to have done? I don't want to put her on thryo l and chromium if not necessary, but all the other horses have started to shed, but not her. I don't think she is cycling normally. Where do I go from here to get this mare pregnant?
