I have a mare that last Friday was a .25 should of been starting her heat cycle. Tuesday via ultrasound had a .30 with no go waves, and her uterus was like a rock. Today Friday no real good folical a little softer.. This is her second year bred with a foal by her side.. She doesn't seem to be ovulating .My vet suggested doing P-Plus because the conception rate is better and it works with the ovaries over a 10 day period.. and then breed on the 15th day. SHort cycling may be harder because we can't get her working to know where she is in her cycle. Any ideas?

The use of progesterone and estradiol can be valuable in the silent estrus post-foaling mare. It will not work however if the mare is truly a lactational anestrus mare with no ovulations.
