When is Banamine used for post breeding fluid clearing? When, if ever, is this drug a better choice than Oxytocin? Thanks! Linda

The only use that Banamine may have post-breeding would be the possibility of a slight reduction in inflammatory response. It would not assist in clearing uterine fluid. It's value post-breeding would therefore be at best minimal.
Additionally, Banamine is a prostaglandin inhibitor, and any release of PGF2a which may occur during stimulation of the cervix during natural breeding, and which would have a positive influence in "clearing" any post-breeding fluid would be compromised.
I would therefore not be inclined to use Banamine post-breeding in any attempt to reduce or clear retained uterine fluid.
