Hello, I have a mare that I am hoping to breed within the next month. I have been tracking her cycles and she is very regular. But she cycles very hard...seems to have her tail over her back and constantly dripping, squirting for 5 or 6 days. She drops so much fluid that if I don't keep up it crusts on the insides of her legs and makes the hair fall off. It is a huge mess and she shows to everything! Are some mares JUST like this or is this a sign of some sort of problem. I had a pre pregnancy ultrasound done on her and the vet said everything looked perfect. No pooling, and good tone. Anyways...I am just concerned about all the fluids being a sign of infection??? Thanks!

Some mare are that messy!! You might want to spray some Show Sheen down the inside of her legs and on her tail, it makes clean up easier. I had to breed a mare once that could hit you in the face from a few feet away !
LOL...well....I am afraid that might be the case with this mare too. I have just never had a mare this messy. And scalding her legs...I will try the showsheen! Thank you!
