Hi, I changed vets and this the outcome, any further advice or ideas? I had a biopsy done on my mare and I got the results last week. She is a grade IIB (She is barely 5 yrs old), vet gives her a 70% chance of being able to have a foal. But she has the Kleb infection and after treating it with Naxcel for 3 days, the re-culture came back heavy again. My new vet said it is still showing sensitive to Naxcel even though it didn't work. He wanted to treat her for 5 days with an antiobotic I've never heard of (P something). Treatment would be about $700-$800 and he gave it a 50-60% chance of working. Obviously I can't go this route! Unfortunately her hind leg is badly scarred and she may not be ridable, so brood mare was to be her career. Anyone have any ideas about possibly treating the Kleb effectively? I hate to give up.
