Our 5 yr. old mini mare was bred late last summer and has been gaining weight well since we had her teeth floated around that same time. We thought she was pregnant because she has a goodsize belly she has never had before and she aborted once when she looked about this size two years ago. She exhitibited strong signs of heat this week though and now we are not sure. Any advice? No vets available on an Easter weekend and we were thinking of taking her to a sale tomorrow, but now we are not sure what todo. Any advice would be appreciated.

Essentially the only thing you can do is to have her pregnancy status checked. I would suggest perhaps an estrone sulphate assay where she is a "mini".
