Hi all,

I've been breeding for a few years and just recently bought a young colt as my foundation stallion. I've had him since he was a weanling and he has great ground manners and very sweet temperment. I was able to breed my 16H TB mare to him (altho she didn't catch on 1 cover) but am having problems breeding my maiden 3 yo mare. The stallion is 13.1H and the maiden is around 14H. Sophy (the maiden) will not show signs of heat to him but will to my gelding! I put her in with Sam(2 yo stallion) in early June hoping they might do the deed if they had privacy but no luck as of end of July. Am now hand breeding them. She will only stand if I twitch her but Sam can't seem to get "in" the right place! I've tried for the last 3 days and he ends up just ejaculating between her legs. I've had him on hillside, Sophy in ditch, all with no luck... And anytime we try to "lend a helping hand" he backs off the mare. Any ideas??
