Recently, I had a friend loss a stallion of his. What was strange was that the stallion was fine and then he just died for no apparent reason about 5 minuets later. The only sign that anything was wrong was the fact that five minuets before he died he started crashing in to his stall was and staggering around. He was also shaking his head. We are trying to figure out what happened and were wondering if it could be a brain aneurysm or something similar and also is whatever it was is hereditary?
A necropsy would be the only way that you could definitively determine the cause of death. All else would be hypothesis, and unreliable.
