Last year his motility was 85% with 50 ml, at 12-16 hrs it was 70% and at 48 hrs it was 25%. This year, first collection was 55% with 40 ml and he had pseudomonas. They are going to collect again this week to test it again. They said that they are not going to treat him but they will medicate his semen with gentocin for AI. He doesn't seem sick. Is he? Should they be treating him? Will he get worse? Could he have gotten it from lying in his stall where they use wood pellets which degrade with moisture? Can he pass it onto the mares he breeds via AI? Is it lowering his sperm count? Will he get better without treatment? Should we pull him from breeding this season?
