When does the sac that holds the testicles drop on a stallion so you can see it..

The sac ...also called the scrotum should be somewhat apparent at birth even though very small... but it should be there all the same....normally... you should be able to feel 1 or both small little testicles depending on the age of the colt at birth , even though some take longer to drop than others. How old a colt are we talking about ?

He is 23 mths old. I can feel the testicals, but he sac has not dropped. I was told that sometimes they don't drop till 3 or 4 yrs. old.

The sac is there or otherwise there would be no space for the testicles to be... the "sac" or scrotum is NOt something that drops it is the literal fleshy bag that holds the testicles. You may want to check any Equine breeding book or website for correct info of "what everything" is and where it is ... because it sounds like you are not totally informed. OR are you just jerking chains for response???

No I'm not jerking chains. This is the first stallion I have owned. All my friends stallions sac had dropped before they were a year old and it concerned me because mine was almost 2.. He had gotten sick when he was about a year old from the wormer i gave him and had a bad reaction from it .. I think it just delayed him a bit.Checked on him yesterday and his sac has dropped and you can feel the testicle in it..
