My stud colt who is almost 11 mos old has starting rubbing against the trees on one side only near his mane area. He has been rubbing the fur out. Does anyone know why he might be doing this? THANKS Melissa
Check him for fungus or another external cause for the irritation. Chances are his has got something living on his crest that is bothering him or he could just be a naturally itchy guy. Either way you need to get him to stop the itching. My co-workers stud poked his eye out on a tree limb from tree scratching and wasn't even an aggressive scratcher.
Thank you Dancing Sparrow, I checked him saw no signs of any fungus. Can this fungus be where you can see it. He has had rain rot, before that is gone now. The vet came me some stuff for it. We don't have any tree branches low, so maybe he want poke his eye out. Thank you for your help with this matter, I will be getting a close eye on him. MELISSA
