Hi have a 14yr old Mini stallion that has been breeding all his life and has gotting every mare infoal that he has covers in the past but this year is first mare is in full blow heat and showing all the classic signs to him but he will get his self ready and when he mount the mare he just sit there and does not to anything not even making contract with the mare I'm lost I have never had this happen? I have been using him as a teaser for my big stud and when you get him around a big mare his whole mind set changes. What should I do?

I find mini stallions are either pickier or smarter than full sized ones. LOL My little stallion will not mount a mare unless she "smells" right. Even if they are squatting and peeing at him. Maybe the mare just isn't ready? Or maybe he's a bit apprehensive because the mare was nasty to him? These minis seem to be just a bit more *sensitive* than the biggies. hope you get it figured out
