I hope I am worrying for no reason, lol
I bought a weanling AQHA stallion a year ago and now he is 18 months old and his right nut hasnt come down, full out and easy to see like his left. Vet felt him without sedation and said he could feel the tip of his missing one and that it was outside the inguinel ring. That was a month ago and yesterday I felt him and I felt his left but I also felt a same sized, almond shaped mass that I swear was his right nut, even had someone of less experience around horses and they said it felt like a nut too! However I felt him today and it seemed sucked up again, so am I worrying for no reason? BTW I was planning on test breeding him this upcoming April to one of my broodmares.

I would get the vet out again. I wouldnt be breeding with him until you find out what is going on down there, you really dont want to be breeding more colts with possibly the same problem.

If he is only 18 month and the testicle has dropped through the inguinel ring I believe he will be fine. The size of his testicle should get larger as he gets older and as it gets larger and heavier it will hang further down. The size of the testicles does have a lot to do with fertility so I would not plan on breeding him as a 2 yr.old, give him time to mature. Relax he is only a baby.

The vet is coming out the 20th to float a mares teeth so I will have him check my colt again.
