I have a young (3 year old - Black) stallion who will be exported by end of Summer. He needs of course to go through quarantine on both ends of his journey to the EU. He is highly allergic to the sun and excess heat and currently lives in Arizona. Between fly allergies and fly spray allergies and heat allergies his face and front legs are ridden with sores.
I want to ask the owner about putting him on an anahystamine (sp), lol, so that he may heal up before she puts him in quarantine.
Will it affect his fertility?
Thanks for your help on this! The poor boy is miserable.
Steroids (which are sometimes used in cases of severe allergy) have a potential for impact, so you should discuss with your veterinarian exactly what is to be used, making sure you reference your concerns about fertility impact.
