I have a 3 month old grulla tobiano colt. He has one testicle dropped, had the vet check him last week and he said he could feel the other testicle inside the ring. What are the chances this testicle will drop on its own? Also, has anyone heard of or used HCG to try to get a testicle to drop. A few people have told me about it but my vet has never heard of it! Any info would be great. Thank You!

What breed is your colt..some don't drop til alittle alter and for goodness sakes ..he's only 3 months old...1 is always carried abit higher anyway ...give hi m a few more months to mature unless you are wanting to cut him tomorrow.
Have had 2 with same in the last 30 yrs... both dropped by the time they were 7 months old( I cut colts at 1 yr in the Fall...no bugs)
If your vet can feel it .....he( the colt not your vet ) isn't a Crypt. Give him some time and see what happens.
Have given HCG to mature and flip of a follicle that is at least 37mm to force ovulation...but never used it for undescended testicle.

I have to wonder when your vet says that the testicle is "inside the ring". The inguinal ring closes shortly after birth. So, if the testicle is indeed on the inner side of the closed ring, then the chances for him dropping are pretty slim.
But if the testicle is felt outside of the ring, then there's a good chance he will stil drop. My 3 year old stallion did not drop his second testicle until 2 1/2 yrs old.

Gosh one of my colts was nearly 2 before he dropped fully (both descended). We then gelded him not long after
For sure don't get too worried with him being a baby, give him time to grow some and see if it drops on it's own

My trainer's stud was 3 years and a week before he fully dropped. We were worried sick, but today he is one very healthy guy.

On the website
http://fpbafuturity.com/ It is the Florida Pony Breeders Assoc. Website
there is a link to an article near the bottom of the page REPO ARTICLE.
It's a about using hCG on colts that retains a testicle.
Might help you out. Good luck, Heather
