I was just wondering what the USUAL progression of milk changes are?

I mean from sticky and clear to opaque or yellow?
does anyone know.

i was also wondering how soon most horses will actually get milk so you can test them. My mare will only let me get one or two drops before she dries up so to speak. Shes pretty close to foaling croup relaxed bag is startig to fill better but just curious.

Mares milk will usualy go from clear, salty and sticky, to amber colored, salty and sticky, to opaque, not so salty, and sticky, then usually to milky colored, starting to turn sweet and sticky , and then to very sweet and sticky and milk colored. I use this to determine when my mares are going to foal. Once it turns pretty sweet and milky, they
}usually foal within 24 - 36 hours. I am not a vet but this works really well for me. And yes I taste the milk.
