I was wandering if any body could suggest a good mare and foal supplement. Juast an all around vitamin and mineral thing(maybe something to help him grow)

Right now I using Nutriquin thats an all around supplement. Working good. But from what I hear Equimin by Purina is almost like it and its cheaper.

But I wanted to try Mare Plus or Grow Colt by Farnam; they seem to be widely used.

I have used mare plus for a number of years and have been very happy with the results. Along with a good feed program I add one little scoop of mare plus to my mares feed.

I have fed Nutrena Prime for several years with wonderful results in both my older broodmares( now 14 and 17 on there 8th and 9th foals) and thier respective foals. Its a 14% protien and 4%fat with all the great vitamines and selenium/biotin type minerals they both need. Folks like the way my mares and foals look as well as our stallion. I changed feed for 6 months to save a few bucks..NEVER EVER again!! its not worth it. Any good, well balanced feed with all teh nutrients and good quality clean hay with free choice salt/trace minerals is usualy the best. Call your local aggriculture department to see what you local grass and soil minerals are and what they are high or low in..Selenium is invaluble for mares in foal as well as the in foal in eutero..too little is bad as well as too much.
Remember too that foals grow at different levels just like humans. Some are slower to develope and some are faster. Much depends on genetics as well as nutrition and enviroment.
