What is a good price to ask for a paint stud colt?
If this stud colt is homozygous for the tobiano gene what is the price? You can see him at
www.photobucket.com/albums/e329/MBhorses
his barn name is Little Man. We don't want to sell him, but if we get another stud this year we might have to sell one. We live in Mississippi.
I would want him to go to a show home if I sold him. Please help me with this we haven't had to sell one of our foals born here yet. This stud is our first foal born here, he is special to us just like all of them will be.
THANKS MELISSA

What are his bloodlines? Depending on them and his disposition you should be able to get 2, or 3,000 for him. But ask around more. You can possibly get more than that. He is very pritty. Good luck.

Hello, I found out this stud colt is homozygous for the tobiano gene. What do you think he is going for now? We might keep him to breed later. I was told he will only produce colored foals.
THANKS melissa

It depends on what his bloodlines are.Do you have his papers? If he has a good background You could start him at 4-500. Stud fee.

Price is affected by many things
A.) Location
B.) Bloodlines
C.) Conformation
D.) Market

Keep in mind that for several years we have been in a buyers market. Its all about what someone is willing to pay. I would do some comparisons online in your area as to what Paint Stud Colts are going for.

Jennifer- just wondering where you are located? and "ditto" what Danielle said..all those things will certainly affect what price you get for your colt. (selling to an individual will get your more, but you have to find one who is looking for what you have to sell and that can take time too)
