I have a 15 year old mare that pools urine on a daily basis. It has been suggested I have a urethra extension performed on her. I mentioned this to my vet and he opted for a urethral flap instead. This was performed two weeks ago and last night I noticed she had a significant amount of urine pooled up again. She also had her uterus flushed at the same time as the surgery and when it was flushed back out there was a large amount of sediment floating about in the bag. This mare is is used for barrel racing and this has really presented a major problem for me! I really do not know what to do next or where to turn. I would appreciate any suggestions!!
