For the past few years I have been searching to purchase frozen zebra semen and so far have only been able to find cooled or chilled. I reside in Australia so the latter to options are not an option. Any information in regards to the success of AI-ing from frozen zebra semen would also be appreciated as I have been informed that Zebra stallion require a specific extender in appose to a 'general' extender as with most horses. By the way, I am grateful for such a mature and informative forum board!! I came across it a few hours ago and have absorbed everything I've read - it's just what I have been searching for ) |

Contact Jim Crump at Roanoke AI Labs. He not only has Zebras, he also freezes semen from them, and his facility is set up as a quarantine station for export. If he can't help you, nobody can! Tell him "hello" from the Equine-Reproduction.com team when you speak to him! |

Thanks for that Jos. I'm pretty sure I emailed him some time ago and from memory he was waiting to see if he could successfully AI using the frozen semen. I think at that stage he had a mare in foal and was waiting to see if would work. I'll contact him again. Thanks again ) |
