We got her to the vet for her ultrasound on the 4th(U/S showed a 38 egg). On the 5th, Dr gave her Ovuplant and (ack, brain freeze) some other drug to make her ovulate and then inseminated with frozen/thawed semen at a 40 egg. The next evening (approx 24 hours later) he U/S again and found that she STILL had not ovulated with a 42 egg and she stayed overnight. The next morning she had finally ovulated. I just knew that with the narrow window of opportunity there is with frozen semen that insemination 24-36 hours prior to ovulation would NEVER take. But, my Aieda was confirmed in foal on April 23 by ultrasound and Dr said she was 16 days along. I was excited, to say the least. Boy, we musta had a horsie angel on our shoulder that night. I never expected it to work the first time, much less so far from ovulation... Just wanted to share and tell everyone who is breeding with shipped frozen semen to "keep the faith" because luck plays a big part, I think.
