I'm breeding my Palomino mare to a jet black stallion. Via the little research I've done, I could end up with one of these six colors: black, palomino, chestnut, bay, buckskin, smokey black. Palomino and chestnuts/sorrels on dam's side; brown, bay and chestnut on sire's side. Keep in mind though the only way you can get the buckskin and bay is if your mare carries the agouti gene. The stallion has chestnut in his pedigree so he is probably heterozygous for black. So that means higher chance of chestnut or palomino? He has sired foals carrying all of the colors - don't know about smokey black, as he hasn't bred too many palominos. He did get a black filly out of a palomino somewhere in the past, and a black filly this spring out of a chestnut paint.
