Her dam is a black bay tb.
Her sire is a black Homozygous tobiano

Here is a picture of the stallion Oreo is bred to, his name is Smoke Tree Silver Dragon

Dragon is a palomino roan sabino section b welsh.

Contest open until Oreo foals, state what color you think the foal will be and whether it will be a filly or colt. The sex will be the tie breaker.

Hey Jan
I hope it is a buckskin colt, I love buckskins, especially a light buckskins unless it's a paint then I like the dark buckskin. I'd be happy with a black with 4 white stockings. But with my luck I'll probably get a light palomino roan medicine hat. After I bred her I was regerting it because there are so many unflattering or wild color combinations the foal could be. I breed pony hunters, wild colors are not very popular in the hunter ring.

If you check the color calculator, their is around 47 different color combos.

I'm not a color specialist by any means, but I'd like to give it a try. I think it'll be a Tobiano colt. Same color as mom.

I hope you like my guess, and if I win, I'll be very surprised. lol

I'd be happy with that.
Oreo's first foal was liver chestnut, by a gray
second foal was black, by a black tobiano.

Crumb, I meant to add that both the mare and the stud are gorgeous! Whatever the color the foal is going to be, it'll be drop dead gorgeous too! :-)

Heather: My guess is that you will get a light chestnut tobiano. I'm also guessing a colt. It will be fun to find out what actually comes out!

Ok, Oreo is getting closer to foaling, I haven't started testing her milk yet. I'm guessing another week to go but maybe not, so there are not to many more days to enter your guess to win the prize. Tell me what color the foal will be and if it will be a filly or colt (will be the tie breaker). A nice prize is guarranteed.

I checked Oero's milk last night,

the calcium was 250
the ph was 6.9

This morning the calcium is 425 and the ph is 6.3
She has not waxed or dripped milk yet. I'm thinking she could have it this evening. So if you want to enter the contest you might better hurry.

I think that she will have a buckskin Tobino filly (I think thats the right name for a Tobiano x Sabino).
I love your mare- that white mask on her face looks fantastic!!!! If she was mine I would have called her Houdini!!

Thanks everyone, this is the mares 3rd foal, her first pinto and her first filly. I'm thrilled, now I got to come up with a name. I stood in front of the cookie section at the grocery store this morning looking at the oreos trying to find a name for her.

The mare has been a pain in the rear with this foal, she wouldn't let the foal nurse, kept turning away from the foal and trying to get me. I managed to milk her and gave the foal 8oz with a baby bottle, she took a nap and about 20 minutes later she hopped up looking to nurse again. I got Oreo to stand still, I had a good shoulder roll grip on her but I was by myself, so I had only one empty hand to guide the baby to the udder but she was aiming to high so I used the empty baby bottle (nipple) to get her head down were it needed to be. I rubber the nipple of the baby bottle on her nose and since that was were her first meal came from she followed it right to Oreo's teat and latched on. The foal would slip off the teat so I use the baby bottle to direct her back to the teat. Then I hurt my shoulder patting myself on the back.

I gave Oreo some banamine because she seemed to be in pain. She was pawing, laying down, getting up, pinning her ears and snapping at me, I was hoping she would be a little more cooperative. She passed the placenta within 5 minutes of foaling.
I think Oreo knows this foal is special since it is the only one that looks like her. Now I have to keep my fingers crosses that the foal doesn't grow over 14.2 hands since she is suppose to be a pony.

She is a beauty to say the least. I'll try and help with a cookie name for her. I would have been right except I thought it would be a colt. Darn it all! lol... Anyway, congratulations for the gorgeous filly, she's definately a keeper. :-)

Hey, by the way, good job getting her to the nipple, that was clever of you. You deserve that pat.
