I bred my APHA Red Roan min white overo mare to a very dark bay almost black min white stallion(www.alltimefancy.com ). I have heard Roan is dominate and the black gene is dominate I have also been told because of this my foal will be a bay roan or a blue roan is this true?? Also they are both neg for the Lethal white Gene because of this do I have a higher chance of a solid color foal ? My mare looks identical to the paint stallion irresitable kid in coloring(if you needed a idea of what she looks like) just higher socks
These are the possiblility of breeding a red roan to a bay. If you know specifics on there genetics, then you can get more accurate results. I have a hard time loading photos on my computer, so I calculated them as splashed overos. If they are sabino or framed, the odds probably won't change much.
