I'm about to breed my mare who's hetro Ee & Neg. on all other color\genetic tests. The stallion is a black/white overo homo EE & LwO & Neg. on all other color/genetic tests. So ? is will I most likely get either a black/white overo or a black foal? 50-50 chance I will get either/or & nothing more right?}

By saying your mare is negative on all other color tests I am asuming you are talking about Agouti. If so then yes, you will get a black foal with a 50% chance of it being overo.
Good Luck

My mare is successfully being bred so far this week. I'm so excited! When I bought her 3 years ago she was pregnant & I did'nt know it. Well she gave us a gorgeous sorrel overo colt! He is in training so I've decided to bred her again hoping to get another colored foal with nice conformation like the 1st foal. I would like to share pictures I have on photobucket but I don't know how to? can someone help me please?

Tracy...what a wonderful wonderful surprise....what great great color and nice confirmation.

Color questions: Does anybody know if they can DNA test for the grey modifying gene at UC Davis?

Tracy, what beauties you have!!!! And what a wonderful surprise.
Hope she is bred for you.

Jan,
I believe this was mentioned before and if I remember correctly they do not. Not 100% sure about that though.

Thanks Emily...I tried reading back through the thread but could not find it. Thanks...that's what I was thinking but I was hoping I would not have to wait and see what Gracie will do. :-)

Would the silver dilution test be considered a test for grey?

The silver dapple gene & the grey modifier are two different things so no the silver test can't be considered a test for grey...You can check out the difference in a grey horse & a silver dapple at this link. Just click on stallions. www.tnwalk.com

There is a test for silver but I don't think there is one yet for grey
