To me I've got a odd colored baby. The mother is a buckskin and daddy is bay. Before she started shedding her baby coat she looked buckskin but now she's just looking different. The vet said maybe grulla but I read up on that color and it said you had to have a dun gene so I don't know if that color is possible?? Any help? If it matters her grandparents were bay, black and palamino.

I forgot to say she also has dark blue eyes, I guess it's blue..they're definitely not brown like all of my other horses.

She looks buckskin to me especially looking at her light hips & face but she looks like a sooty buckskin.

Beverly I agree. With three sooty buckskins born at my farm I would say that is what she is shedding out to be

Thanks...I just wasn't sure since she was so much darker than her mom.
