Hi all, I have just bought a minimal overo mare, that is in foal to a splashed white/sabino stallion. The mare has not been tested for the LWO gene, but so far she has thrown two frame overo fillies, to two different stallions (one minimal overo, the other a frame overo- minimally marked). Do you think this foal will be a frame overo?? Or how coloured do you think it will be? Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

have you tested the mare for LW?? its very easy to do and inexspensive. Did the two stallions she was bred to before carry frame?? If she is frame and is bred to a splash i would supsect a highly colored foal :-)

Rene, you really need to test your mare for LWO. Since she has produced two known Frame foals already (even tho she was bred to Frame stallions), you can't know for sure unless you test!

You call the mare & both of the stallions she was bred to "minimal" Overos. Do you mean "FRAME" Overos? If so, have they been tested for the LWO gene? Many "minimally marked" pintos are confused as Overos in error.
